Emulex problems on Solaris10 and RH 5.5 9 Years, 6 Months ago Karma: 2
Recently had a weird problem while trying to load up a bunch of Ultra 20M2 Systems.
We added Emulex LP 10000-M2 cards into 13 systems. (Unlucky number to start with)
The cards were recognized by the BIOS with no problem, and all seemed fine.
Red Hat 5.5 Loaded the Light Pulse driver without a problem.
Solaris 10 X86 complained about not being able to load the EMLX Driver. "Unable to load adapter - 201" error.

Spent the next two days trying to determine why the OS couldn't see the drives or load the adapter under Solaris.

Just so happened that when we tested this out originally on one random system, which the BIOS was set to 1.4, it worked
great. Every other machine except the one we tested on originally was currently loaded with 1.06. What luck!

Obtained the latest firmware bios from the tools and drivers CD, V1.9, and upgraded everything on all the other systems
and they all started working perfectly. Latest BIOS was 1.6, found on the V1.9 CD. Pretty easy upgrade. Burn the ISO to
a disk, boot up on it, select option 2 and wait about 2 minutes. All was good after that!
